SYDNEY SUPERDOME is now ACER ARENA!

Acer, Intel & PBL Sign Multimillion Dollar Sponsorship

Acer Computer Australia today announced a five-year sponsorship agreement with PBL resulting in the Sydney SuperDome’s first-ever naming rights deal that will see it re-branded as Acer Arena. The sponsorship is made possible with the support of Intel® Viiv™ technology. Billed as Australia’s number one indoor entertainment venue and number two worldwide, just behind Madison Square Garden, the entertainment centre will take on its new identity from 12 May 2006, spearheading Acer’s drive to become Australia’s number one consumer technology brand.

The sponsorship will not only enable Acer, Intel and the SuperDome to deliver a greater entertainment experience at Acer Arena, but plans are also in place to deliver hours of on-demand, Internet-delivered digital entertainment direct to people’s homes.

Acer will use this sponsorship as an important brand building opportunity, conveyed through positive and enjoyable experiences. Within the venue Acer and Intel will share an innovative experiential zone in the foyer where visitors can touch and feel the very latest and best in digital, multimedia entertainment.

A deal to suit all players
The multimillion dollar deal supports Acer's success and rapid growth plus the goal of becoming Australia’s number one consumer technology brand.

Intel will use the Arena sponsorship to promote its newly released Viiv technology platform. Intel Viiv technology delivers the computing performance to support high-definition entertainment including the latest online content, DVDs, games and music, ushering in a new era of home entertainment.

The Acer Arena is a world-class entertainment venue attracting world-class acts. As the number two worldwide entertainment venue, its focus is on retaining this position and achieving number one status through technology innovation.

Acer and Intel Experiential Zone Experience

The interactive zone created by Acer and Intel that epitomises the partnership between technology and entertainment. This zone will be situated in the foyer of the Acer Arena and will be open from 12 May 2006. The area will allow visitors to explore the innovative technologies on offer, interact with the latest Viiv experiences, take home information and take part in special offers.

The hands-on, experiential showcase will underline the fact that the thrilling entertainment on offer at the Acer Arena is an experience that can be relived over and over again using Intel Viiv technology based Acer devices.
